Overview
CiteRight allows you to cite your references throughout your document in two style formats, in-text and in a footnote. It's important to note that you can use both styles in your document however, you cannot automatically convert footnotes to in-text style and vice versa. In this article, you'll be presented with the ins and outs of both styles.
CiteRight defaults to footnote styling for all new documents
As mentioned, for all new documents CiteRight defaults the styling for your references to footnotes. This can easily be changed in the Preferences menu. Here's how you do it:
- Go to the Preferences menu located in the ribbon of the CiteRight tab
- Click on the Citations tab and go to the Style section and click on the drop-down menu to select In text
- Click Save
Now that you have changed the styling, keep in mind that this change is only for references going forward. It will not convert any references already cited throughout your document. However, when you press "Cite" to insert a new citation, it will be in your newly selected style.
