Note: this feature may or may not be currently available for your firm. If you do not see the option to "Locate and Convert", you may need to wait for your firm to unlock CiteSense access.
CiteRight Next allows you to scan through any Microsoft Word document containing manual (non-CiteRight) citations, identify them, and convert them into CiteRight-compatible citations!
Caution: to keep your work intact, always save a copy before making changes with CiteRight Next.
After you open CiteRight Next, click on "Citations" in the top ribbon. You will see the Citations side panel pop up in the same area as the main side panel. Note that you can always adjust the sizing and placement of these panels!
Click "Locate and convert".
Allow CiteRight a few minutes if you are scanning a larger factum or document with many pages and citations in them. Note that it will count in-text citations and cases within your index or table of authorities as well.
Your detected citations will become highlighted, and your Citations panel will list out each citation with potential matches.
Focusing on the "Review" panel: you may now verify and select the correct match for each detected case. Click "Document preview" to see the case text for each result.
Each match will have a "Confidence Score" as a percentage, as measured by our system.
If none of the matches are correct, choose "Other" to opt that citation out of the conversion process.
Once your selections are done, click "Add to Collection" and choose between your existing collections. All cases, if not already in that collection, will be added once the conversion process is complete.
Done!
